Shhh... a quiet new project

I’ve been thinking a lot about faces lately. Actually, I’ve been thinking about them for 35 years. I’ve been thinking how much they have witnessed, how much they have endured. How much that have laughed and cried.

Some of you know me. You have worked with me. You know my flaws. You know how much I pour out for each and every session. Each and every client. Photography as been good to me. This town has been good to me. You have been good to me.

As this is our 35th year in business, I’d like to give a little back.

I’m beginning a quiet project. A legacy project. It’s called Every Face Is Beautiful.

I fell in love with photography when I first saw the portraits made Yousuf Karsh. (You have seen his portraits of Winston Churchill, Albert Einstein and Earnest Hemingway.) Karsh had a way of capturing the authentic person. The genuine self. Without gimmicks or flattery.

Like Karsh I have developed my own signature style. An interview style. I ask my clients to tell their story. Often it is the story most people haven’t heard. In the midst of the story, in the midst of the joy and the sorrow, the tempests and triumphs, I  that icon of an instant. That revelation.

It is unlike any portrait you have done before. The most beautiful faces are not the smoothest but ones that endured despite the challenges.

If this strikes a cord with you, I’d be honored to start the conversation.

I’m inviting 35 people to come into the light. To create something for the next generation to hold on to. We only ask for a symbolic gift of $35 to the Mercy Center for Women. You will receive a custom session with yours truly and a complimentary 5x7 portrait.

If this resonates with you, fill out the form. We’ll chat. See if it is a fit for you. We’ll schedule your session. Maybe you want to do this for your mother or father. Or your spouse.

Make a portrait that lasts.

Because every face is beautiful.
