35th Anniversary

Where It All Began

I was broke.

It was 1990 and I walked into Gannon University PR department with my portfolio and no appointment. Roberta, the PR assistant, was kind enough to meet me and to review my photographs--images of our kids on tricycles, my mission trip to Haiti, and our neighbor’s pet falcon. It was all I had.

For some reason, she gave me a job. A small job. I made $35. I could not have been happier.

I had no idea a small step would become such a big journey.

An Amazing Adventure

Over the next 35 years, my camera captured a president, a pope, a rockstar, an olympian, a ballerina, and so many more. What started with PR, class reunions and weddings, turned into families, seniors, headshots, and art portraits.

We raised five kids, weathered a couple of recessions, transitioned from film to digital, survived a pandemic, lost a child at birth, celebrated three of our children's weddings and the birth of seven grandchildren.

And here we are today—celebrating the 35th Anniversary of Lorei Portraits! No one is more shocked (or grateful) than me. And none of this would have been possible without you. Your kindness and generosity are the reason for our success. We cannot thank you enough.
