Celebrating 35 Years

Where It All Began

In September of 1990 I walked into the Gannon PR department without an appointment. The director was kind enough to review my portfolio: images of kids on tricycles, a mission trip to Haiti, our neighbor’s pet falcon.

For some reason, she gave me an assignment. A small one. I made $35.

Small step - big journey

I had no idea such a small step would become such a big journey.

My photography side hustle was meant to be a stop gap until I got through grad school and on to writing the Great American Novel. God had other pans.

To infinity and beyond

I went from college PR shoots to class reunions to weddings, and on to our current mix of families, high school seniors, individuals and art portraits.

Somehow, we raised five kids, weathered a few recessions, transitioned to digital, lost a child, survived a pandemic, celebrated three of our children's weddings and welcomed seven grandchildren.

And here we are today—celebrating the 35th Anniversary of Lorei Portraits! No one is more shocked (or grateful) than me. And none of this would have been possible without you. Your kindness and generosity are the reason for our success. We cannot thank you enough.

Thank you for 35 amazing years.
